Bowness-on-Solway to Walton (26 miles) completed in just under 10 hours. Weather was dry for most of the day and had the benefit of a stiff westerly to help us on our way.
Lots of sore feet, aching limbs and tired bodies. All feeling better having enjoyed a sumptuous evening meal and are now warming ourselves by the fire enjoying a game of Perudo.
It would appear that those doing the whole walk are in much better shape than the slackers who are only doing 2 days. Good job really.
We have discovered that
-Neil takes a long time in the bathroom
- John did not appreciate nearly being eaten by a horse
- Geoff’s knee held up all day especially when he got in ‘the zone’ with the walking poles
- DC is like a walking Forest Gump texting all the time
- David is the most ill prepared walker of all time
- Richard bullied us so badly all day that we weren’t allowed to stop for lunch til 2.35
- Paul is cool and windy

Thanks for the update – sounds like a good challenge and variety of blokes (have you scared off all the ladies?) I am probably not going to be able to join you for any of the walk – which is down to nothing other than poor time management on my part – but I am certainly with you in Spirit, as they say. You have been part of my praying today and will continue to be so. I am also visually looking at your progress distance-wise by comparing the plan for the walk to what’s on my Hadrian’s Wall mug! Money-wise, the prgress also looks good.
Take good care and God bless,
Neil Sorensen
